Marking 'Superhairo Day' the LPT way

Today is National Superhero Day when people across the land celebrate their favourite fictional character with superhuman powers.

We at The Little Princess Trust like to do things differently and instead mark April 28 by championing some very special superhairoes.

Matthew Roberts is one such superstar who donated more than 18 inches of hair after growing his long locks for more than three years.

Matthew Roberts donated more than 18 inches of hair.

His mum said he had encountered some unkind comments while letting his hair grow, so we are incredibly grateful to him for his support.

Another superhairo is Emily Swann who not only donated 12 inches of hair but also raised £560 for us!

Emily Swann is a true superhairo!

Emily has been an absolute star at home caring for poorly relatives but, despite these challenges, she was still determined to help others.

Another incredible youngster who has thought of others despite many personal challenges at home is Liara Handley.

Liara, aged 10, lost her dad Liam to lung cancer and cut her gorgeous long hair on the day that would have been her father’s 40th birthday.

We’re all so grateful to Liara, and her wonderful family, for their support in helping us provide wigs to children with hair loss.

Seven-year-old Orla knows all about our wigs as her friend received one while undergoing treatment for leukaemia.

Orla raised £600 for The Little Princess Trust.

Orla was determined to help The Little Princess Trust and raised an incredible £600 from her sponsored haircutcut.

Barnaby also gathered fundraising ahead of his big hair cut so, as well as donating more than 12 inches of hair, he also raised a huge £1,250 for us!

Alfie Rose’s hair was his comfort blanket but the 11-year-old from Rushden wanted to help a young person so set about raising the £700 it costs us to provide one young person with a wig.

After growing his hair for two-and-a-half years, Alfie donated more than 14 inches of hair and smashed his fundraising target to raise more than £1,000!

Our final superhairo is the magnificent Mehar Bains who selflessly donated more than 12 inches of hair and collected the magnificent sum of £1,100 for LPT.

Like the many other superhairoes, nine-year-old Mehar has played a vital part in helping The Little Princess Trust give Hair and Hope to children with cancer.

Mehar raised £1,100 from her sponsored haircut.

We are now providing more wigs to young people than ever before – but we can only do this thanks to our truly amazing supporters!
