SuperHairo Harry receives some extra special encouragement for his hair donation!

SuperHairo Harry’s journey of support all started at the age of just 6 years old, after watching an advert depicting cancer and its side effects. He has since then received messages of support from Dame Judi Dench, Stuart Broad, and members of So Solid Crew!

Curious as to why people can lose their hair during their cancer journey, Harry’s mum, Leanne, explained how hair loss can come as a result of the treatment used.

This is when Harry became aware of what we do here at LPT, and how by simply growing out his locks with the aim of donating them, he can help to make a real difference to the children and young people seeking out our service.

From then on, Harry’s hair donation journey was well underway!

Despite facing criticism for having long hair, he remained determined to donate as much of his long locks as possible in order to help with the demand for our longer length wigs.

Leanne told us: “He has been amazing and so dedicated to do this, and he has already said he is thinking about doing it again!”

3 years since deciding to do something amazing, an understandably nervous Harry recently parted with an incredible 17 remarkable of hair, having also raised a truly remarkable £5,000 in the lead up to the big haircut!

Harry’s nerves at braving the long awaited haircut soon disappeared as he realised just how much of a difference he would be making to our Hair and Hope mission through his incredible efforts and continued support.

We would like to say a massive thank you to Harry for his wonderful act of kindness and for helping us to fund the provision of 7 real hair wigs for those we support!
