Meet Lily, one of our wonderful wig recipients
“It was amazing to see Lily smile again while her wig was fitted."
Lily was just 17 years old when she was diagnosed with sarcomatoid-type renal cell carcinoma in February 2024 and has undergone both chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments.
Her sister, Hannah, told us that, despite the chemotherapy making Lily very poorly, hair loss was the most difficult side effect for her to deal with.
“She loved her long hair and it was heartbreaking to see how upset Lily was. It knocked her confidence and she refused to leave the house or see any of her friends as she hated the way she looked,” Hannah told us.
It was then that Lily and her family decided to get in touch with LPT to see how we could help. Organising her wig fitting at a salon as local to her as possible, Lily was thrilled to be able to choose the wig that felt best for her, in a colour she loved - and doesn’t she look lovely?
Hannah told us: “It was amazing to see Lily smile again while her wig was fitted. Her wig really has helped her to regain some confidence, allowing her to have a sense of normality during this difficult time.”

Taking this as an opportunity to do something amazing for LPT too, Lily’s family and friends all got involved in a sponsored walking marathon.
The team completed the 26.2 mile walk back in August, raising £2,330 for our mission of giving Hair and Hope in the process. We are so grateful for this wonderful support, and this amazing fundraising total will certainly go a long way towards our wig provision service and research mission.

As always, we hope you will join with us here at The Little Princess Trust to send Lily so much love and best wishes for her treatment and recovery.
