Ruby rides on for LPT
Primary school pupil's 2.6 challenge
A primary school pupil has taken on a national challenge to help The Little Princess Trust.
Ruby Withers, who is 11, has been hitting the roads on two wheels as part of the #TwoPointSix campaign.
She is aiming to cycle 26 miles and has so far raised more than £1,000 which will ensure we can give hair and hope to young people by providing wigs and funding vital research into childhood cancer.
The pupil at Hampton Dene Primary School in Hereford had been spending more time on her bike and wanted to raise money while keeping fit.
Her sponsored cycle ties in with the national 2.6 campaign which seeks to help charities affected by the loss of funding following the cancellation of so many high-profile sports events.
Fundraisers across the country have come up with challenges using the numbers two and six, and Ruby’s ride around Hereford will cover 26 miles.
“This will be double the distance I have ever gone before but I am always up for a bit of a challenge,” she said.
“Although I would like to try and do it in one go my dad says we need to do it over two days to follow government guidelines.
“If you can spare some pennies please do and help this amazing charity continue to do their brilliant work for children less fortunate than me.”
