Childhood Cancer Awareness Month 2022

Childhood Cancer Awareness Month 2022

Every September, we recognise Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

It is a special month to highlight the challenges families and children with cancer face, as well as raising awareness of the amazing differences being made within the childhood cancer community today.

This September, we want to celebrate the fantastic childhood cancer researchers we work with here at LPT, who help to find new and kinder treatments and discover more about childhood cancer types.

So far, we have invested more than £20 million into research, which means we have over 70 lead researchers, each with their own expert research teams. Our researchers are based all over the United Kingdom, from Belfast to Birmingham. And they collaborate internationally, sharing data with experts in Paris and working with doctors in Uganda.

Wherever they are based, they’re all committed to giving children with cancer hope for a better tomorrow. Throughout Childhood Cancer Awareness Month we will be sharing quotes from our researchers about why they love their jobs and why childhood cancer awareness is so important as well as shining a light on the pioneering projects we fund.

For more detail into our research you can read more here.
