A team from The Little Princess Trust listened in as world-leading experts on childhood cancer gathered in London.

The UK Childhood Cancer Conference brought together paediatric oncology researchers, support groups and parents of children affected by the disease.

And Wendy Tarplee-Morris, Little Princess Trust co-founder and research manager, was with Andrea Reese, the charity's Hospital Relationship Manager, at the event.

The conference, organised jointly by the Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Group and Bethany's Wish, aims to provide a platform for parents and medical scientists to discuss the latest advances and research into childhood cancer. 

Topics covered at the event included 'life after childhood cancer' and 'CAR-T cell therapy for leukaemia' while one Little Princess Trust grant recipient also addressed attendees.

Professor Janet Shipley talked about rhabdomyosarcomas and how molecular biology can be understood to improve outcomes for patients.

Wendy said it was great to attend a conference that had the most up-to-date and innovative peadiatric oncology research findings.

"We particularly enjoyed catching up with Kathy Pritchard-Jones and Reem Al-Saadi," added Wendy.

"They updated us on one of their projects, part funded by The Little Princess Trust into the delivery of chemotherapy for Wilms Tumours in the UK.

"Incredible things happen when we work together."
